Photography for me goes back way farther than Instagram.
I bought my first Canon camera when I was 10 years old, and I owned Photoshop long before it came with a monthly subscription. I’m talking Adobe Photoshop Elements on a CD-ROM. I taught myself how to edit, carried my camera everywhere, and honestly never really put it down.
One of the most influential people in my life was my high school photography teacher. She was the first person who really made me believe that if photography was something I wanted to pursue, I could.
Years later, when she was preparing to retire, she called me and asked if I would be interested in taking over her position. At the time, I was in school studying art and hadn’t finished my degree yet, so unfortunately it wasn’t an option. I later switched my degree to education, but I’ve never forgotten that phone call. The fact that someone who taught me so much trusted my eye, my ability, and my knowledge enough to want me to take her place was one of the greatest compliments I could have received.
Since then, I’ve had my photography published in magazines and have photographed so many different people, places, and moments for friends, family, and clients.
